UnionBank launched Blockchain Institute, an institute offering six-month blockchain-focused programming curriculum, to address the scarcity of blockchain talent pools in the country, Aboitiz Eye reported yesterday.
Unionbank has partnered with various open source talent pools to develop blockchain-based products and solutions, which led the innovative bank to discover the glaring gaps in the skills required to gain a competitive edge in the blockchain workforce.
500 entrants in the field of information technology, computer science, and engineering from various schools in the country signed up in a span of three days via social media to be part of this learning endeavor.
Blockchain Institute offers a comprehensive program that will allow students to be equipped with the essential skills and proficiency required to effectively join a blockchain development workforce. It sees itself as “an innovation lab that offers more than a coding and development experience” and provides actual use cases and working blockchain solutions.
Meanwhile, it was shown that blockchain-related jobs in the global market secured the number one spot on skills index for second consecutive quarter according to the report made by Upwork, the largest freelancing website in the world.
